Project Intern

World University Service of Canada (WUSC) is a network of individuals and post-secondary institutions who believe that all people are entitled to the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute to a more equitable world.

We are now seeking for a self-motivated Vietnamese student for the position of Project Intern based in Hanoi to work with the Canadian Volunteers. The term of the position will be from September 1st, 2014 to March 31, 2015.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide interpretation and translation services from English to Vietnamese and vice versa to Canadian volunteers;
  • Help in arranging logistics for Canadian volunteers in the field (i.e. transportation, accommodation, and banking);.
  • Help in preparing workshops and/or seminars delivered by the Canadian volunteers;
  • Contact local partners to make sure the volunteer working workplans are implemented as scheduled;
  • Provide support and/or assistance during the orientation session for new volunteers (i.e. city tour, transportation, eating out…)
  • Other tasks as required by the Canadian volunteers and WUSC staff.

Requirements:

  • University degree or 4th year student in the major of English, Communications, International Relations or other relevant area;
  • Experience in translation and interpretation;
  • Willing to  travel to WUSC’s local partners;
  • Excellent spoken and written English;
  • Good organizational and self-motivational skills.
