SNV Vietnam is seeking a Project Manager

This is an international position for an anticipated bidding process

Based in Hanoi or HCM City

SNV - Netherlands Development Organisation has been working in Vietnam since 1995. Using innovative market-based approaches, SNV is committed to reducing poverty by catalyzing environmentally sustainable solutions for the poor in agriculture, energy, water & sanitation, and REDD+.

SNV Vietnam has been working with different donors including DFID, AusAID, BMU implementing initiatives like the Vietnam Business Challenge Fund (VBCF), other sustainable and inclusive business projects in sectors like coffee, rice, pepper, spices and aquaculture.

SNV is currently seeking an international experienced Project Manager to manage the Vietnam Climate Innovation Centre (CIC) project (subject to project approval) initiative starting from December 2013 / January 2014.

Vietnam Climate Innovation Centre (CIC) will provide and manage a targeted suite of early-stage financing, technology commercialisation, venture acceleration and market development and capacity building services to Vietnamese private sector innovators related to climate and/or green technology innovations.

Responsibilities

The Manager will be responsible for the operations of the Centre, including oversight of programmes; reporting to infoDev (Information for Development Program); promoting the Centre among private sector stakeholders; oversight of the host and advisory/investment committees; developing relationships with stakeholders; setting strategic objectives; and fund-raising. The CIC Manager will participate in the Fund Manager's Investment Committee meetings and vice versa.

Candidate profile

- Advanced degree in engineering, economics, MBA or similar preferred
- Minimum of 10 experience years in implementing climate and/or green technology innovation through business and/or competitive funding mechanisms
- Experience in overseeing investments, business development services, budgets and fundraising activities for a donor programme.
- Strong understanding of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency sectors, particularly as they relate to the agriculture and agri-business sectors
- Strong understanding of the business and investment climate in Vietnam and ability to draw on private and public sector stakeholders to achieve the goals of the programme
- Experience and good project management skills
- Experience of leading teams of consultants on development assignments
- Experience working with donors such as World Bank, DFID, AusAID, USAID
- Strong track record in providing strategic leadership, managing change and implementing innovative approaches
- Strong training, communications and personnel management skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English

Expected starting date:  December 2013/ January 2014
