Project Officer
The ILO Office in Vietnam invites applications from Vietnamese nationals for the following position:
Project Officer - Increasing Workplace Compliance through Labour Inspection and Forced Labour Action in the Asian Region (FLARE)
The National Officer will work 70 per cent for the Increasing Workplace Compliance through Labour Inspection project and 30 per cent for the FLARE programme
As regards the Increasing Workplace Compliance through Labour Inspection project, the National Officer will work under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, and will be responsible for working directly with the MOLISA to provide support and guidance in the implementation of the project activities. During the Project Manager’s absence, the National Officer will be the Officer-in-Charge of the project.
As regards the FLARE programme, the National Officer will work under supervision of the programme Chief Technical Adviser, who is based in Bangkok. The National Officer will work directly with the MOLISA, the VCCI and the VGCL to implement the programme activities, and represent the programme in UN interagency working groups, government consultations and other meetings related to programme work.
The duration of appointment is 12 months with possibility of extension subject to fund availability. The assignment is based in Hanoi, Viet Nam.
Minimum Requirements include:
- First level university degree in a relevant field in law, business management, human resource management, social science or equivalent.
- At least two years of professional experience at the national level and Public bodies work experience and/or International Organizations work experience will be valued. Ideal candidate will be familiar with national labour laws and anti-trafficking laws, have a basic knowledge of the garment industry, have a good understanding of forced labour issues, and have a strong ability to reach consensus among various viewpoints.
- Proficiency in and ability to draft quickly and clearly in English and excellent knowledge of Vietnamese
- Good knowledge Office-wide activities and objectives. Knowledge of the Office’s financial rules and regulations. Good knowledge of programme and budget, project administration and evaluation concepts and procedures. Good computer application skills.
