Project Officer

Save the Children (SC) works to promote every child’s rights to survival, protection, participation and development as set forth in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.  The current programme focuses on the following core sectors: Health and Nutrition; HIV/AIDS prevention; Care and support; Education; Child protection; Child-focused emergency preparedness and response; Climate Change adaption Child rights agenda, including Civil society development, Economic opportunities, Child poverty Research, and Advocacy for child-friendly development policy and practice.

We are looking for a Vietnamese national for:
Vacancy: Project Officer
Based in Hochiminh

Main Responsibilities: Work under the guidance and supervision of the Project Manager and in close coordination with partners to ensure effective, efficient and cost-sensitive operations of Phase 2 of Improved Protection and Quality Education for Children in Ho Chi Minh City Project (the Project).

Key Competencies:

Essential

• University degree in social sciences or related field;
• Have at least 3-5 year experience working in the development areas, working with children, especially ethnic minorities ones;
• Ability to learn quickly and respond to multiple demands;
• Positive attitude to working with children in schools, parents, school and community leaders;
• Experience working in schools with school management and students;
• Knowledge of child participation, child right governance is a plus.
• Excellent project management, communication and capacity building skills;
• Solid understanding of the Vietnamese government system;
• Fluency in English speaking and writing.

Desirable

• Experience of managing sub-grants;
• Experiences in working with CP organisations, including CSOs;
• Demonstrated “Training of Trainers” experience.
