Project Officer

Aide et Action International (AEAI) is an international NGO, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.  AEA International began its programs in 1981 and is now working in 19 countries across Africa, Europe, South Asia, Southeast Asia and China to support the development of sustainable education projects with our belief in the universal right to a quality education. Each AEAI intervention is based around this ethos.

AEA has been working in Vietnam since 2003. Our approaches focus on early childcare education, access to quality education, and inclusive education for children of ethnic minorities while planning to venture further into livelihoods education and education for girls and women. Over 15 years of experiences along with local communities, partner organizations, and local authorities, we have implemented a number of projects in various locations where poor and disadvantaged groups live.

We are going to implement a water project throughout the country and looking for 02 dynamic and enthusiastic candidates to fill the full-time position of Project Officer at AEA Vietnam office in Hanoi.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Liaise with and regularly debrief with partners and communities to ensure quality activities and processes are implemented according to deliverables;
  • Visit project sites frequently (50% travel time) to supervise and coordinate the project’s activities;
  • Process all field requests and related local procurement in a timely manner;
  • Arrange servicing and repairs as required;
  • Keep accurate and up to date records of all procurement, maintenance, servicing and repairing;
  • Organize activities/events regularly to promote participation of community;
  • Provide ongoing mentoring to partners;
  • Ensure that project partners in are compliant with donor technical, budgetary, and beneficiary accountability requirements;
  • Prepare monthly reports of project activities;
  • Participate in any other activities/events which may be required to be undertaken to fulfill the objectives of the organization;
  • Represent AEA at relevant meetings and assisting in hosting donor visits;
  • Provide regular updates on project activities and plans at regular meetings with the team;
  • Coordinate regularly with programme, finance and administration team leaders and perform any other tasks as agreed for overall operational needs.
  • Perform other agreed tasks assigned by the manager and CD.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • At least University’s Degree in Economic, Environment, Social Science, International Relations or related;
  • Be able to travel frequently;
  • At least 3 years professional experience in development filed;
  • Have engineering, water supply, sanitation experience is preferred;
  • Vietnamese candidate who is intermediate-level user of English;
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook;
  • Strong attention to details and ability to follow through;
  • Experience in participatory action planning and community engagement;
  • Experience monitoring projects and collecting relevant data preferred;
  • Knowledge of cooperate donors;
  • Knowledge of community development settings and practices, theory of change, result-based management, project-cycle management, measurement of quantitative and qualitative impacts.
