Project Officer

HealthBridge is an international, non-profit, non-governmental organization that works to improve health and health equity among vulnerable populations through research, policy and action. HealthBridge has been operating in Vietnam since 1993 in the areas Health, Nutrition and Food Security; Livable Cities, Gender Equality and Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health; Tobacco Control; Alcohol Control; and Non-Communication Diseases Prevention.

HealthBridge in Vietnam is currently looking for a qualified Vietnamese candidate to fill the position of Project Officer (PO) for a project under the Health, Nutrition and Food Security Program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Overall responsibility:

The PO will work as a part of the project team in collaboration with HealtBridge’s partners to plan and implement the assigned project activities. The PO will work under guidance of and report to the Project Manager. In addition, to support the long term visibility of HealthBridge’s Health, Nutrition and Food Security Program, the PO will contribute to the development and growth of the organization, new projects, activities and partnerships.

This position is full-time for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension, starting as soon as possible.

Specific responsibilities:

1. Identify methodologies and regularly conduct desk review of factors that can affect food and nutrition’s rules and regulation.
2. Update and share database and the analysis of the reviewed results with relevant organizations and networks.
3. Contribute and coordinate the development of a strategy toward organization’s objectives.
4. Organize capacity-building workshops needed for relevant stakeholders on assigned topics.
5. When applicable, document and share case studies on relevant topics.
6. Participate/Attend the country update and check-in calls when needed.
7. And other tasks assigned by the Project Manager and the Country Director

Requirements

Qualifications:

Essential:      

• Bachelor's degree in public health, nutrition or other relevant sectors
• At least 3 years of project implementation
• Excellent analytical, writing and organizational skills
• Good research and communication skills
• Experience in working with government agencies
• Experience in training /workshop facilitation
• Ability to provide supportive assistance
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work effectively in a team
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Vietnamese
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Desirable:

• Experience working in tobacco control and or food and nutrition area is an advantage.
