Job Opening: Project Officer, Avery Dennison funded Project, WWF-Vietnam (9 months contract with potential extend)

WWF was one of the first International non-government organizations working in Vietnam. In 1985, WWF began working on a national conservation strategy and since then has worked closely with the Vietnamese Government on a diverse range of environment issues and implemented field activities across the country.

We are looking for Vietnamese experienced candidate for the position of: Project Officer, Avery Dennison funded Project

Base location: Hue, Vietnam

Major functions: The Project Officer provides additional support to the Project Manager and project team in the planning, management, implementation, monitoring and reporting process of project to ensure compliance with the Project’s objectives and targets as well as WWF’s contractual obligations and ensure close collaboration between the project management, partners and other relevant stakeholders in the project framework

Key requirements for the role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in forestry or/and conservation, natural resource management, bioregional planning, environmental, or in relevant fields.
  • Knowledgeable of conservation and natural resource management issues in Viet Nam, especially in related fields such as responsible forest management, forest rehabilitation and forest certification
  • At least 5 years of practical experience as a Project Officer; at least 3 years of which should be in related fields, especially in sustainable forest management and forest certification
  • Experienced in designing and implementing the forestry development models
  • Experienced in conducting field studies and coordinating the field research activities
  • Experienced in working with governmental officials and departments, local communities and/or other counterparts in relevant field
  • Good planning, monitoring & evaluation and reporting skills
  • Good analysis and researching skill
  • Good presentation & interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
