Project Officer; Intern

Center for Health Consultation and Community Development (CHD): CHD is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization under the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Association (VUSTA). CHD’s program focuses on promoting gender equity and human rights and preventing gender-based violence and human trafficking; improving child and maternal health care, adolescent health; preventing the spread of infectious diseases, including HIV and AIDS, malaria, avian influenza. CHD is committed to strengthening the capacity of families, communities, and partners by carrying out interventions in achieving maximum and sustainable social and public-health impacts.

CHD receives a grant from the Public Participation and Accountability Facilitation Fund (PARAFF) co-funded by the DANIDA and DfID to conduct a research on the roles of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on supervision and social critic through consultation with community people and relevant agencies with an aim to improve the Fatherland Front Law (revised) in two districts of Tra Vinh province.

We are recruiting the following full-time and part-time positions – see details in the attached TOR:

1.      Project Officer – full time
2.      Intern – part time

Requirements

1. Project officer

-       B.A. in laws, social science and related fields
-     At least five years of working/research experience in laws, social science and/or administration and related fields: including program design, implementation and monitoring; staff training and coaching with an emphasis in the special technical capacity for the focus of the project
-      Experience in INGO-funded project planning and implementation
-      Leadership capacity and experience is an advantage
-      Good time management and organizational skills
-      Good interpersonal and communications skills
-      Be able to work independently and work in team
-      Be able to work under time pressure and meet deadlines
-      Proficiency in English (report writing and reading) is an asset
-      Good computer skills in Word, Excel, Power point and email.

2. Research Intern

-      B.A. in social science and related fields
-      At least one or two years of working/research experience in laws, social science and related fields
-      Skillful in using PRA and participatory research tools
-      Good interpersonal and communications skills
-      Be able to work under time pressure and meet deadlines
-      Working experience with NGOs/international organizations
-      Proficiency in English (report writing and reading) is an asset.

Starting date: September 3rd 2014.

Duration: 12 months, with possible extension based on good performance.

LOCATION: based in Ho Chi Minh City, with frequent field trips to Tra Vinh province.
