Since their inception, Room to Read’s worldwide team has impacted over 4.1 million children by constructing 1,129 schools, establishing 10,000 libraries, publishing 550 new children’s book titles in 22 local languages, and putting over 10,000 girls onto long-term, holistic scholarships. Their long-term goal is to help 10 million children to gain the lifelong gift of education.
In Vietnam, Room to Read has been implementing five programs including the Reading Room, the Girls’ Education, the Local Language Publishing, the Literacy Instruction, and the School Room in eight provinces and city of Vietnam.

Position Overview
The Reading Room Program Associate will support the development of the Reading Room Program in provinces of South Vietnam in general, and the development of Reading Room Program in Can Tho in particular.  The position will involve frequent travel within province, to other project provinces where Reading Room Program activities are implemented when required, and Room to Read office in Ho Chi Minh City.

General Duties & Responsibilities:

The Program Associate will report to PO Can Tho, and support in the smooth and timely implementation of the program in the following ways
- Program development and cross program coordination
- Support the organizing of, and participate in meetings, program events, study tours that Room to Read Vietnam conducts with governments, CO/RO/GO visitors, donors to program sites
- Participate in activities that require cross program coordination
- Take part in regular professional development activities, including identifying own Professional Development needs, and review of performance

Planning and reporting
- Contribute to annual budget preparation
- Provide support to PO to complete reports if required on activities as required for the Country Office
- Contribute to document best practice, effective processes, and lessons learned to share with Country Office

Implementing and Monitoring
- Support PO in the process for selection and purchase of education materials
- Support PO in the process of booklist development
- Collect data required for GSD, update and maintain GSD database and report to PM on relevant indicators
- Maintain a database/file of documentation on best practices, effective procedures and lessons learned
- Participate in monitoring and support activities as required
- Perform other agreed tasks assigned by the Reading Room Program Manager.

Compensation:
The salary range for this position will be determined based upon the experience of the candidate hired. Benefits including health and a retirement plan are also provided.
