Regional Coordinator

WWF Greater Mekong Programme (WWF GMP) is seeking to recruit a well-qualified and experienced candidate for the position of Regional Coordinator, Forest Carbon, based in Vientiane, Lao PDR. The Regional Coordinator, Forest Carbon, in collaboration with the country offices and regional team of WWF GMP, and the WWF Forest Carbon Initiative (FCI) team, develops and delivers a Forest Carbon strategy in line with the WWF GMP Strategic Plan FY2011-2015, and the Forest Carbon Initiative Strategic Plan.

Key requirements are:
- Master degree in forestry, forest conservation, environmental management, international development or relevant fields;
- 5 years of practical experience in forest carbon project development, including field-based surveys and similar forestry activities, preferably in Southeast Asia;
- Understanding of conservation and development issues in Greater Mekong Region;
- Strong knowledge of Forest Carbon / REDD;
- Substantial work experience in the Mekong Region and familiarity with key regional and international institutions or corporate, a significant advantage;
- Experience of working with above-mentioned institutions, governments and non- government actors at all levels;
- Experience of working in multi-cultural environment;
- Experience in writing report in English;
- Fluency in spoken and written English and native language is an advantage;
- Proficiency in MS Office.
Salary range: From US$ 36,962 to US$ 48,450 per year (gross)
