RECRUITMENT FOR REGIONAL GIFTS-IN-KIND (GIK) OFFICER

Good Neighbors is an international humanitarian development non-governmental organization founded in Korea in 1991 to make the world a place without hunger, where people live together in harmony. Currently, Good Neighbors has been working in 198 community development sites and 40 countries around the world.

East Asia Regional Coordination Office (RCO), representing the East Asia region, discusses issues and collects opinions from 08 current member countries - Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. RCO’s functions include but are not limited to: coordination of planning activities within the region; supporting member countries for operation, activity management, and finance management; supporting fundraising and resource mobilization.

We are looking for an experienced, qualified, and motivated Vietnamese candidate who is committed to working full-time for the following position:

Reports to: Global GIK Team Manager, Regional Coordinator

Working time: 8:30 – 17:00, Monday – Friday

Effective date: September 2023

1. KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

2. MAIN DUTIES

  • Find suppliers and make purchasing plans, propose to Managers to select prestigious vendors. Compile and sign contracts, and proceed to import goods in accordance with the requirements of GNI. Conduct transactions, negotiate, and sign contracts with vendors;
  • Monitor the orders and devise solving plan in time when goods are lacking, stocked, guarantee compliance with supply contract;
  • Liaise with in-charge staff of other GNI’s member countries to receive purchasing information and process exporting of goods to other countries;
  • Prepare documents, administrative procedures (contact with shipping agencies and couriers) and customs procedures, etc. to ensure the shipment is exported and transported on schedule;
  • Track the progress of the shipment and solve problems arising in the shipping process;
  • Supervise and report operational processes directly to Global GIK Team Manager, Regional Coordinator, and Regional Manager(s);
  • Coordinate with local partners to receive and give donation goods;
  • Update information on law documents related to the exported and imported goods;
  • Prepare and conduct business field trip(s) with Regional Coordinator to partners’ factories, e.g. in Ho Chi Minh city;
  • Manage and expedite activities (if have) of East Asia’s GIK Working Group;
  • Perform other tasks assigned by managerial levels;

3. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Education

  • College or University degree in Import and Export, International Trading, International Relations, Customs, etc.

Work experience

  • Minimum 1 year of similar role;
  • Have exporting and importing skills and knowledge, understand the import-export process and documents;
  • Understand international payment methods, international transportation methods, international trading conditions, legal documents

Skills

  • Proficient in English (4 skills);
  • Good communication and presentation skills;
  • Proficient in office computer skills and software;
  • Plan-making and presentation skill

Attitude

  • Enthusiastic in work;
  • Friendly, honest, hard-working;
  • Eager to learn
