We are looking for committed, result-driven candidate for the position of Regional Project Manager – Advancing Biodiversity Conservation in the Mekong Region
* THIS POSITION IS PROVISIONAL ON FUNDING*
Major Function:
The Regional Project Manager of WWF’s ABC Mekong project will be responsible for providing technical and operational oversight to implementing country office teams in Viet Nam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand. The position will ensure the effective development, rollout, coordination of implementation, learning and communicating and reporting of the program. The position will be part of WWF’s regional Greater Mekong team, be based in one of the Mekong countries and liaise closely with in-country Conservation Directors, who will oversee the ABC larger program of work within their specific country office. The position will also provide technical support and cross programmer learning on the four outcome related issues within ABC Mekong and participate in regional partnership learning events.
Requirement:
- University degree in environmental science, sustainability, water conservation or any climate change related field, a master’s degree preferred.
- At least 5 years’ relevant and demonstrated professional experience in Project Management of projects >USD$1M; SIDA project management experience is highly regarded.
- Good knowledge of Convention for Biodiversity (CBD) and the Kunming Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) and National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) theory and application. Experience in freshwater conservation highly regarded.
- Experience as an effective manager working within a decentralized, multi-national network (or programmed).
- Experience in partnership relations management,
- Familiarity of working with governments, aid agencies, regional institutions, research groups and civil society organizations of various sizes and levels.
