JOB ANNOUNCEMENT – RESEARCH ASSISTANT
The University of North Carolina in Vietnam is a research organization of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA. We are conducting studies on new therapies for HIV and TB treatment and prevention as well as mental health interventions targeting key populations, including people living with HIV, TB patients, men who have sex with men, transgender women and people who inject drugs. We are in partnership with clinical trial networks of the US National Institute of Health (NIH) such as the HIV/AIDS Prevention Trial Network (HPTN) and Advancing Clinical Therapeutic Globally (ACTG). To expand our operations, we are now seeking a talented and dedicated individual to join our team as a Research Assistant.
Position: Research Assistant
Full-time, based in Hanoi
Report to: Research Manager /Research Coordinator
Position Summary:
The Research Assistant will be responsible for implement research procedures, support participants and research staff, manage participant records and research equipment to ensure appointments are carried out properly and smoothly and records are recorded complete and timely.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Implement research procedures
- Prepare documents, equipment, supplies, and facilities for the research appointment.
- Obtain and update residence information and demographic information.
- Carry out questionnaires and assessments according to research requirements.
- Receive medication from the pharmacy room, dispense medication and advise on medication use and treatment compliance for participants, and monitor treatment compliance.
- Schedule appointments for participants.
- Collect initial information about adverse events and report adverse events to management.
- Complete the required study forms.
- Carry out other research procedures according to the specific requirements of each study.
Support for participants and research staff
- Support and help participants, always follow the participant’s progress during the appointment 2. Support the doctor and coordinate with other research staff/departments so that the appointment goes smoothly
- Take participants through research procedures including but not limited to X-rays, sample collection, and specialized examinations.
Check and manage records/data
- Monitor the flow of participant records, monitor the time the test/paraclinical results arrive, check the information on the test/paraclinical result form and forward these results to the doctor. assessment officer.
- Store and manage participant records.
- Upload paraclinical results to data portals according to research protocol requirements
May perform other job-related duties as requested or required.
Required qualifications and skills:
- Graduated from university majoring in health sciences.
- One or two years experiences in Clinical Research is prefer
- Familiar/master the content of the research outline to be carried out.
- Familiar/master the research regulations of the management agency.
- Ability to use English for communication and documentation (both written and spoken).
- Excellent adaptability, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
