Research Manager

Population Services International (PSI) is the leading social marketing organization with programs in over 60 countries. PSI Vietnam is currently focused on implementing a comprehensive HIV prevention targeting most at-risk populations. With donor funding, PSI works in close collaboration with national and provincial government agencies to measurably improve the health of Vietnamese poor and vulnerable populations through evidence-based social marketing of health products, services and behavior change communications.
They are currently seeking talented and motivated Vietnamese individuals to join our dynamic team in Hanoi in the role of: RESEARCH MANAGER

The position will be responsible for the management and implementation of PSI/Vietnam assessment and research projects, including a range of quantitative and qualitative studies to inform program development, monitoring and evaluation. This position will manage the Research team for all research activities (design, development, implementation) to respond to the information needs from programs for evidence-based decision making and to evaluate the impact of the program. The Research Manager will help identify potential partners and work closely with local research partners to oversee and manage field activities, research design and instrument development and data analysis. This position will also help lead the research team to raise the PSI s profile internally and externally by leading research dissemination efforts, including report writing, organizing workshops and sharing information with larger health community.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and abilities:
- University/Master s Degree in public health, social science, epidemiology or other related field
- Demonstrated experience (minimum 3-4 years) in research, including areas of study design, development of research tools, management of data collection and data entry, and data analysis
- Knowledge of health and development systems in Vietnam, including central and provincial government structures
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize and respond in a timely manner
- Ability to work independently and show strong interpersonal skills to contribute as a team player
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in both Vietnamese and English
- Excellent coordination, analysis and critical skills
- Work experience with NGOs/INGOs is preferred but not mandatory
