Research Officer (01: Rural Development, 01: Agricultural Economics)

Rural Development Center (RUDEC) is an autonomous research center established under the Institute of Policy and Strategy for Agriculture and Rural Development (IPSARD), within Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. RUDEC has conducted a variety of policy research studies which have covered a wide range of topics, including rural economy and society, rural organizations and institutions, public services, agricultural R&D, food supply chains, commodity chain and quality management, geographical indication development, production system, development strategy and poverty reduction, food security, climate change, regional equality and farming monitoring system. RUDEC’s research activities serve a wide range of clients including national government, donor and international agencies, international and national non-government organizations and farmers.
RUDEC is currently seeking for capable and experienced candidates for two positions of Research Officers

02 ROs: Research Officer (01: rural development, 01: agricultural economics)

Key responsibilities:
- Identify research topics and develop research proposals;
- Develop work plan and facilitate research activities as scheduled;
- Work with authorities, local and international partners and stakeholders with regard to research activities;
- Follow up the project activity and prepare periodical progress reports to report to the donors and Director of the Center
- Design surveys including questionnaires and relevant forms;
- Perform desk studies and travel to project sites to conduct researches and surveys;
- Data processing and analysis;
- Writing scientific reports;
- Other research assignments as required.

Qualifications:
- Master degree or currently enrolled in a Master programs in development economics, rural development, sociology, or related fields. Exceptional candidates with excellent Bachelor degrees and having substantial research experiences could be accepted;
- Excellent programming skill in SPSS, STATA are highly appreciated
- Long-term commitment;
- Experience in development economics research would be a valuable assets;
- Good command of English;
- Readiness to travel to provinces as required;
- Ability to work in teams as well as independently.
