Vacancy for a RESEARCHER and/or SENIOR RESEARCHER at Development and Policies Research Center (DEPOCEN)

Established in 2005 as an independent research organization, DEPOCEN has gained its reputation among the development and research community in Vietnam for its high quality work in a wide range of research topics and development areas. Our core business includes three main components: research, consultancy and survey implementation, and training (http://www.depocen.org).

DEPOCEN has conducted numerous research and consultancy projects on a wide range of issues, including macroeconomic policies, public finance, public policy, corporate innovation and competitiveness, econometric modeling and forecasting, trade liberalization, public service, to state-of- the-art impact evaluation of intervention programs in poverty reduction, household welfare, rural and agricultural development, electrification, technology and innovation, education, public health, water supply and sanitation, public health and HIV/AIDS prevention, gender equality and survey methods.

DEPOCEN is currently seeking applicants for the position of Researcher and/or Senior Researcher.

Location: Hanoi

Type: Full-time

Job description:

• To develop proposals (methodology, work-plan, study tools, etc.) for assigned research and consultancy assignments;
• To manage and develop the expert network to join DEPOCEN team in research and consultancy projects;
• To conduct fieldwork (quantitative and qualitative surveys) as part of the consultancy;
• To participate and manage researches and projects, from the stage of design to the stage of data analysis, report writing and dissemination;
• To liaise with project stakeholders, including clients, local partners and collaborators (external consultants, interns and enumerators)
• To manage a research team
• Other tasks if necessary

Qualifications

• Master or Ph.D degree in Economics, Sociology, Social Affairs, and/or other related fields.
  Candidates with outstanding academic records are encouraged to apply.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in conducting the research and consultancy projects
• Critical thinking, and excellent writing and analytical skills
• Excellent command in English
• Strong capability to work both independently and in team.
• Willingness to travel to several provinces in Vietnam for fieldwork
