Resource Development Associate (RDA)
Workplace: Habitat for Humanity Vietnam (HFH Vietnam) based in either Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi; occasional national travel
Reports to: Resource Development and Communications Manager (RD+C Manager)
Supervises: None
Relates to: Coordinates with Country Director; RD+C Manager; Program Managers; and Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) via Asia Pacific regional office (e.g. resource development department)

Overall Responsibilities
The Resource Development Associate (RDA) is responsible for assisting in the development of resource mobilization strategies to support HFHI Vietnam’s mission. The RDA will support existing funding activities and work towards developing further funding activities that involve partners, donors, staff and volunteers, etc. The RDA will assist the RD+C Manager in building the resource capacity of HFHI Vietnam. These activities will include, but are not limited to, concept and proposal research and writing; developing current and future donors; event planning and logistics; attending functions and/or events; and preparing presentations and marketing collateral.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Assist the RD+C Manager with acquiring resources from international and national sources of funding (e.g. corporations, multilateral and bilateral organizations and foundations)
- Assist in the development and submission of proposals to donors, working with alongside the RD+C Manager and appropriate HFHI-V staff
- Assist in the timely and accurate submission of donor reports
- Assist in the development of further funding activities and funding partnerships with local, regional and international businesses and organizations
- Assist in the execution of applicable fundraising and advocacy events either as an HFHI- Vietnam initiative or in collaboration with partners
- Coordinate regularly with program, finance and administration team leaders and perform any other tasks as agreed for overall operational needs
Required Experience, Qualifications and Specifications
Essential
- Vietnamese national
- Fluency in spoken and written English (writing samples will be requested)
- Alignment with the values, vision and mission of HFHI in general and HFH Vietnam in particular
- Passion for working with and on behalf of people affected by poverty
- University degree (e.g. business or economics)
- Minimum two years’ work experience in resource development and fundraising
- Excellent computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to take initiative, at times work independently, be pro-active and meet deadlines
- Ability to multi-task with conflicting priorities in multicultural environments
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; healthy stress management skills
- Show respect to others; practice honesty and integrity
- Client and service oriented
- Committed to continuous learning and self-development
Desirable
- Previous experience working for a nongovernmental organization (NGO)
- Previous experience creating internal and external communications platforms (e.g. newsletters)
- Experience facilitating group training workshops
Benefits and Performance Appraisals:
Benefits will be provided as guided by Terms of References and/or contractual agreement and as required by standard labor policies and practices of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam as related to INGO operations in Vietnam and guided by best practices from HFHI policy and guidelines.
Annual or project specific job plans will be developed with supervisor and management team will objectively guide and serve as assessment tool for regular (3-6 months) performance assessments and formal annual or end of contract performance appraisals.
