PSI currently seeks 3 talented and motivated individuals for the temporary Consultants (up to 23 working days) as below:

Job Title: Senior Data Collector

Report to: Research Manager

Job purposes: Population Services International, Vietnam (PSI/V) with support from UNICEF is conducting formative research on neo-natal care practices, care seeking and treatment of pneumonia and diarrhoea, hand washing, and water treatment and storage practices in Dien Bien, Kon-Tum, Ninh Thuan and Dong Thap. The proposed research will play a critical role to ensure that health interventions take into consideration cultural practices in addition to physical realities including but not limited to education, socio-economic status, and geographic location.

Major duties:

  • Participate in training conducted by PSI for study method and study tools
  • Contact with local people and logistic preparation for data collection at study sites
  • Conduct data collection in field
  • Support PSI research staff to transcript, input and analyze data
  • Conduct field report and support to do final report

Selection criteria

  • University degree or master degree in public health or sociology, prefer well knowledge on maternal child health, hand washing and sanitation
  • At least 5 year experiences in conducting qualitative studies with photo narrative or caregiver immersion method, doing techniques to collect data for qualitative research
  • such as in-depth interview, focus group discussion or observation.
  • Well-skilled interview and probing for further explore studies issues among vulnerable groups such as women, nursing mom, caregivers and ethnic minority
  • Enthusiastic team players with a positive attitude & a desire to learn continuously are encourage to apply, prefer female for more comfortable to conduct observation at household
