Project Objective
Social Impact is in partnership with Banyan Global to implement the USAID Learns II Activity. The Activity supports USAID/Vietnam staff and partners to become more efficient, effective, and transparent in achieving program results through the use of evidence, performance management techniques, and collaborating, learning, and adapting (CLA) practices. The Activity will prioritize (1) the core tasks of the Program Cycle, i.e., design, performance tracking, evaluation, and research, and (2) capacity strengthening for USAID/Vietnam staff and partners. All of the work to be performed under the contract must be in full compliance with USAID policies and ADS requirements, including but not limited to ADS Series 200 – 205.
Position Description
Social Impact seeks to hire a full-time (Senior) Facilitation and Design Specialist to provide technical assistance on learning and knowledge-sharing activities. This position will be based in Hanoi, Vietnam, and report to the Learns II CLA Service Lead. The final title for the position may be Facilitation and Design Specialist or Senior Facilitation and Design Specialist depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
Responsibilities
Support project and activity design
- Prepare and facilitate co-creation sessions with relevant stakeholders to define parameters for developing future strategies, projects, and activities, including support to facilitate the theory of change and logic model development
- Provide support to both USAID staff and relevant partners to prepare for the project approval process at both the project and activity levels
- Collaborate effectively with leadership and technical teams within USAID and implementing partners to design and implement responsive, useful, participatory, and learning approaches that inform design, implementation, and monitoring
Deliver facilitation assignments that foster learning and collaboration among stakeholders
- Foster strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, serve as a convener for dialogue and learning around emerging issues, assist in identifying and responding to key learning issues, and coordinate amongst related stakeholders on common results/ solutions
- Conduct capacity strengthening activities in Collaborating, Learning and Adapting (CLA)
Deliver technical assistance and capacity strengthening in Collaborating, Learning and Adapting (CLA)
- Develop and conduct training in Collaborating, Learning & Adapting topics
- Model CLA approaches and values in all areas of work to serve as a role model to staff, partners, and USAID
Other tasks
- Build and maintain effective relationships with USAID and implementing partner staff, and other counterparts
- Actively contribute to the team’s culture of learning, adaptation, and commitment by promoting ownership, sustainable utilization, and behavioral change throughout, while remaining compliant and service-oriented
- Implement knowledge management protocols and processes
- Contribute to Learns II thought leadership (e.g., blogs, tools, and other external guidance materials)
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in social science, organizational development, sociology, development studies, or related field.
- Minimum seven years of experience in group facilitation, change management, and/or strategic planning
- Demonstrated experience in project design and management in collaboration with a variety of government agencies
- Previous work experience with USAID, preferred
- Strong facilitation skills
- Ability to organize, manage, prioritize, and follow through on multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required
- Have a growth mindset, openness to new ideas and perspectives, and commitment to personal growth and improvement, desirable
- Able to work well with and be inclusive of colleagues and stakeholders from varied backgrounds
- Fluency in written and spoken English, required.
- The candidate must be fluent in Vietnamese and reside in the Hanoi area
