Project Objective
SI is implementing the USAID/Learns Contract (Learns). The scope of the five-year project is to support USAID/Vietnam staff and its implementing partners to implement more efficient, effective, and sustainable programs by (1) improving staff knowledge and skills in Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) and Collaborating, Learning & Adapting (CLA); (2) advancing evidence-informed decision-making; (3) strengthening strategic collaboration between staff and local stakeholders.
Position Description
SI is seeking a full-time (Senior) Facilitator and Knowledge Management Specialist (final title to be based on seniority level in line with SI’s professional development framework) who will conduct tasks in Collaborating, Learning and Adapting (CLA), especially facilitation and knowledge management. This is an exciting position to support USAID in collaborating more effective with its partners and local stakeholders and supporting the USAID Learns team in its internal knowledge management needs.
This position will be based in Hanoi, Vietnam and is full-time, starting as soon as possible in 2023, through August 2024. The (Senior) Facilitator and Knowledge Management Specialist will report to the Senior Director of Organizational Learning.
**Please Note: This is a local position. Only Vietnamese citizens will be eligible to apply.**
Responsibilities
- Conduct tasks under the facilitation service area of USAID Learns including facilitating / co-facilitating learning events, supporting USAID design processes, reflections to inform decision-making, application of research and evaluation findings, and data use.
- Coordinate logistical support for events and carry out knowledge capture/documentation of facilitated events.
- Work with consultants and provide appropriate guidance to consultants to deliver facilitation tasks.
- Support the delivery of training in Collaborating, Learning and Adapting topics.
- Maintain and continuously improve knowledge management tools, platforms, and processes in USAID Learns to better capture, systematically store knowledge, promote learning and utilization of knowledge in the team.
- Provide USAID with an inventory of deliverables on a biannual basis.
- Capture examples of the USAID Learns team excelling in its work in terms of work quality, timeliness, cost control, and management.
- Other responsibilities as defined by the Senior Director of Organizational Learning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field, such as organizational development, organizational psychology, sociology, social psychology, international development, etc.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in group facilitation and/or change management for the Specialist position and 8 years for the Senior level.
- Strong facilitation skills.
- Knowledge and experience in knowledge management tools, platforms and processes.
- Previous experience supporting USAID-funded agreements desired.
- Familiarity with USAID’s approach to Collaborating, Learning & Adapting (CLA) is a plus but not required.
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are required.
- Ability to organize, manage, prioritize, and follow through on multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Proven capacity to be flexible, take initiative and willingness to learn new skills as needed.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Written and oral fluency in English and Vietnamese are required.
