Senior Political Officer
Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade
The Embassy of Australia in Hanoi is looking for a talented and energetic individual to fulfil the position of Senior Political Officer (LE5).
Working for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the Senior Political Officer works under limited direction from the First Secretary (Political) to established policies and procedures to perform a wide range of research, analysis and reporting with a particular focus on the Indo-Pacific, including regional engagement and supporting bilateral visits and events. The position also provides aid program management support.
Applicants should have experience in conducting research and analysis, preparing high-quality written reports on foreign policy and security issues, and providing logistical support. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Vietnamese languages including high-level interpretation, policy dialogue, networking and negotiation skills are essential.
The successful applicant will be offered an initial contract for a 12-month period with an option to renew the contract for another 12 months. The Embassy will consider flexible work arrangements. The full-time monthly gross salary ranges from VND 41,268,375 to VND 47,968,430, depending on skills and experience.
