Senior Program Manager

The Australian Embassy in Hanoi is seeking applicants to fill the Locally Engaged Staff (LES) position of Senior Program Manager, Economic Integration within its Development Cooperation Section, Australian Embassy in Hanoi.

The successful applicant will initially be employed on a full-time contract for 12 months with the possibility of an extension.

Key selection criteria

  • Selection for the position will be based on merit and assessed against the selection criteria.  Applications must clearly address the selection criteria in order to be considered. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of implementing economic reform programs for poverty reduction in Vietnam’s development context;
  • Experience in leading and/or contributing towards program designs; monitoring implementation; participating in reviews; reporting on activity progress and outcomes; managing resources including external partners and contractors; and financial administration;
  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently and as part of a team and to meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in a cross-cultural context (in both English and Vietnamese), including policy dialogue, networking and negotiation skills; and
  • Analytical skills, sound judgement and the capacity to think strategically.

Eligibility / Other Requirements

  • At least 7 year experience working in development;
  • Tertiary qualifications in international development or a related field;
  • Willingness to travel (national and international); and
  • Experience working in a donor agency and/or with the non-government or private sector is preferable.

Commencing Annual Salary: $24,622 plus competitive benefit package.
