We are looking for 01 Senior Project Officer for the “Strengthening Civil Society to Accelerate Conservation Efforts in the Central Annamites” (Leading the change) project, based in Thua Thien Hue or Quang Nam (preferably Thua Thien Hue).
The “Strengthening Civil Society to Accelerate Conservation Efforts in the Central Annamites” (Leading the change) project aims at intensifying capacity and create enabling environment for people and community to effectively exercise their rights, control decisions, equitably receive benefits from natural resources and contribute to sustainable management of key ecosystems and habitats. The project is funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) to implement in 5 years from 2018 – 2022.
The project comprises of 4 major components including: i. Strengthening capacity of CSOs and local CBOs; ii. Supporting CSOs to participate in policy advocacy process related to natural resources management; iii. Assisting the participation of communities in natural resources management; and iv. Supporting communities to participate in social economic development.
Major functions:
The Senior Project Officer is in charge of coordinating and managing the field implementation of activities under the “Strengthening Civil Society to Accelerate Conservation Efforts in the Central Annamites” project incompliance with donor’s and WWF’s requirements/ policies, with good quality (as working conditions allows) in a timely manner. The position will support activities under the project with more focus and responsibility in the ThuaThien Hue and Quang Nam provinces.
Key requirements for the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in natural resources management, forestry or other relevant fields;
- Knowledge of sustainable forest management, VPA-FLEGT process; business development and forest policies;
- Minimum 8 years of practical experience in implementing projects, preferably in conservation or community engagement;
- Identifies and aligns with the core values of the WWF organization: Courage, Collaboration, Respect & Integrity.
