Senior Project Officer; Conservation Impact Officer; Project Officer

We are looking for committed, result-driven candidates for the following 3 positions:

1. Senior Project Officer, Plastic Smart Cities, Area 2 (base in Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province, Vietnam)

Major functions: Senior Project Officer is the lead and focal point for issues related to Plastic Smart Cities program in the 02 cities Dong Hoi (Quang Binh), A Luoi (Thua Thien Hue) (“The 02 cities”). S/he is responsible for:

  • Together with Plastic Smart Cities and MPA Lead, develop and implement Plastic Smart Cities strategy & work plan to ensure the discharge of plastic waste into the environment in The 02 cities is reduced through strengthening the cities governance, obtaining commitment of the cities leaders to participate in WWF  Plastic Smart Cities platform, encouraging private sector, CSO and communities’ engagement, school children education.
  • Assist Plastic Smart Cities and MPA Lead to uphold the No Plastic in Nature initiative-Cities Pillar Strategy

Key requirements for the role include:

  • Minimum bachelor level degree in relevant management or development areas
  • Experience in managing complex development projects with cities, specifically in Vietnam cities
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience working in international NGOs or relevant development agencies including managing budgets and funding reports
  • Experience of working and negotiating with Government official and/or donors is an advantage
  • Experience meeting stakeholders across public and private sectors                       
  • Strategic thinking; diplomacy and discretion;
  • Problem solving, and management of conflict and risk;
  • Influencing, networking, coordination, facilitation skills for both internal and external audiences and partners
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and diplomatic skill with the ability to manage and interact at all levels of an international, multicultural and multilingual organization.
  • Excellent presentation, communications, and public speaking

2. Conservation Impact Officer, BMUB project (base in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam)

Major functions: She/he will support Plastic project funded by BMUB and other specific projects in Footprint programme to operate consistently with the donors’ and WWF’s Program and Project Management Standards, and support the Conservation Impact (M&E) function of WWF-Vietnam in the administration of M&E tools (such as C2G, project performance tracking, conservation impact monitoring). More specifically, this includes technical support for Plastic and Footprint projects to set up proper M&E Plans, develop knowledge and information management systems, disseminate and facilitate the use of relevant tools for project management and knowledge management, and coordinate with project teams to support development of projects’ reports in a timely manner according to WWF-Vietnam and donors’ quality requirements. The position will also support Conservation Impact (M&E) function in providing services as helpdesk/admin hub for M&E tools such as online databases: Project performance tracking, C2G, and conservation impact monitoring

Key requirements for the role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, MIS, natural resources management, environmental or conservation management
  • Excellent knowledge of Monitoring and Evaluation, and a good understanding of Development and Conservation Project Management
  • A successful track record of at least 03 years of practical experience in M&E
  • Some project management experience will be beneficial
  • Knowledge and experiene on Social Development Goals, social and environmental safeguards will be beneficial
  • Proven experience in data management, data analysis, report writing
  • Previous experience in supporting the development of log frame, M&E plan
  • Strong in training, rolling out ICT based tools in M&E
  • Good presentation & interpersonal, report writing skills
  • Data management and Data analysis

3. Project Officer (base in Ha Noi city, Vietnam)

Major functions: The Project Officer is technically and logistically in charge of assistance of policy advocacy/supporting regarding plastic waste. He/she will responsible for assisting to and co-working with the Plastic Policy and EPR Coordinator in supervision of relevant activities conducted by partners, stakeholders, and consultants; assisting the Plastic Policy and EPR Unit in policy support to national government, city government partners, Regional and Global Teams, on developing EPR, regulations on plastic waste management, plastic waste reductions

Key requirements for the role include:

  • Bachelor or preferably Master degree in the major of solid waste management, policy development, environmental economy, sustainable production and consumption, natural resources management;
  • At least 5 years of practical experience in area(s) related to the above-mentioned area(s);
  • Demonstrated experience in EPR and/or environmental policy review and/or development;
  • Demonstrated experience in solid waste management is an advantage;
  • Experience in policy advocacy and development is an advantage;
  • Experience in an environmental government agency, environmental NGO, or relevant international development agency;
  • Good organizing/planning and analytical and practical problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to work independently, handle a variety of concurrent activities, rank priorities, organize work efficiently, and deliver assignments in a timely manner often under time constraints;
  • Good research, presentation, training skills as well as report writing skills;
  • Strong skills in teamwork and demonstrated ability to work in a devolved team situation;
