Seeking Senior Technical and Management Staff

Chemonics International is a leading Washington D.C. based international development consulting firm with over 40 years of experience implementing United States Agency for International Development (USAID) projects in over 135 developing countries. Our fundamental goal is to achieve substantial and lasting impact - to make a difference in people's lives.

Chemonics seeks experienced specialists for an anticipated USAID-funded project to enhance resilience and climate change adaptation in cities in Vietnam and elsewhere in Asia. The project is expected to increase capacity of sub-national governments for resilience planning and to develop technically sound and investment-worthy project proposals and connect them to public and private sources of climate funding/finance.  

Technical specialists needed in the following areas:

• Urban/municipal investment and project planning
• Project finance, including infrastructure finance
• Project preparation for international and domestic public and private funding sources
• Public-private partnerships
• Climate vulnerability assessment
• Urban climate resilience programming
• Government capacity building in policy, and planning for urban development
• Climate change adaptation policy

Qualifications:

• University degree in relevant discipline required; advanced degree preferred
• Minimum 5-10 years of relevant technical experience, with some management experience also preferred
• Strong ability to work with a broad range of government counterparts and project stakeholders
• Experience working for donor-funded development projects in Asia highly desired
• Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
• Excellent interpersonal and writing and oral communications skills; proven diplomatic and public relations skills
• Fluency in spoken and written English required
