SME Finance Specialist
Call for Resumes: SME Finance Specialist
DAI Global, LLC is seeking candidates for a SME Finance Specialist to support the anticipated USAID-funded SME Linkages Activity in Vietnam, which is expected to begin in late 2018. The activity will focus on significantly increasing the quantity and/or quality of business linkages between Vietnamese SME-firms and global value chains.
The SME Finance Specialist will provide vision, technical leadership, and management support for the project’s access to finance activities, and ensure their alignment with the overall project goal and objectives. Other responsibilities include:
- Assist Chief of Party in assessing the local market for SME finance, producing a market analysis that will both inform the design of the project and serve as a tool to assist commercial banks and finance companies in market entry and expansion.
- Develop strong working relationships with lenders and managers in commercial banks and finance companies (partner financial institutions) interested in serving the SME market.
- Assist partner financial institutions in conducting market research, product development, product costing, pilot testing, and rollout of appropriate products and services.
- Assist partner financial institutions in adjusting internal staff incentives and policies to promote SME service expansion.
- Assist partner financial institutions in improving the efficiency of their operations and in developing outreach to the SME market segment.
- Monitor continuously and report quarterly on each partner’s progress toward its MEP objectives, identifying and addressing obstacles to plan implementation.
- Provide input to the policy reform activities of the project, particularly as they relate to SME finance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, finance, economics, or a related field.
- Strong record of at least seven years of professional performance in banking and finance, either within financial institutions, and/or as a banking industry analyst.
- Experience working on or with donor-funded economic growth programs– strong preference for prior experience on USAID-funded projects;
- Proven ability to develop relationships with different partners, collaborators, and clients to ensure coordinated implementation of project activities and represent DAI;
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
