Social Scientists with Experience in Development

The World Bank is seeking to expand its pool of short-term consultants skilled in the application of social sciences to development projects and policy work in Vietnam.  The World Bank’s mission is to help the Bank's clients in the East Asia and the Pacific Region (EAP) to reduce poverty and achieve environmentally and socially sustainable development. The work program for the Social Development Team includes providing technical input and advice to sector projects, programs and analytical work on social development issues such as resettlement, ethnic minorities, gender, community development, social accountability and participation and inclusion.  This includes ensuring that the World Bank’s policies on involuntary resettlement and indigenous peoples are complied with in Bank supported programs.  This is done through sectoral operations and programs as well as free standing activities on these issues.
