Internationally we are led by 12 Trade and Investment Commissioners covering seven regions around the world. We help Queensland companies access international markets, establish, and grow their export business while also facilitating foreign investments in the state.

Reporting to the Director of Trade and Investment, you will support the strategy and activities of TIQ regional hub in Southeast Asia through delivering a suite of regional, national and sectors (including agriculture and food, energy and resources, technology, health and biomedical, tourism, education and investment) market insights and communications collaterals.
This opportunity is open to both individuals and service provider agencies.
Your contribution
As Strategic Engagement Manager, you will:
Market Intelligence:
- Conduct high level research and analysis to develop clear, concise reports relating to trade and investment related trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Gather and synthesize market insights from key industry publications.
- Provide accurate and timely market intelligence and strategic advice to the Trade Commissioner, Trade and Investment Directors and Queensland companies about developments in the Southeast Asia economy.
Strategic Insights and Sector Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth analysis of key sectors within Southeast Asia as required.
- Identify emerging trends and opportunities to inform strategic decisions.
- Develop comprehensive reports and presentations on sector-specific insights.
Communication & Social Media Strategy:
- Develop and manage communication and social media strategy and activation for the Trade Commissioners and Directors Southeast Asia.
- Highlight market insights and success stories to enhance Queensland businesses capability and presence.
Marketing Materials:
- Create and oversee the development of high-quality presentations and collateral for various markets and industries. Ensure consistency and alignment with our strategic goals.
- Assist with speech writing, translation, and proof reading of PR materials.
Event and Mission Support:
- Support with Ministerial visits and trade missions, media and stakeholders networking events as directed by the Trade Commissioners, including preparation of briefing, press release and media outreach and management.
Qualifications:
- Experience in data analytics, marketing, and communications.
- Strong strategic thinking and writing skills.
- Proficiency in social media activation and risk management.
- Ability to produce compelling presentations and marketing materials for government and C-suit business audiences.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Deep knowledge of Southeast Asia markets.
