Technical Officer

FHI 360 is an international, non-governmental organization that works with the Vietnam Ministry of Health, provincial health services, and local non-government organizations to promote the health and well-being of the Vietnamese people, particularly vulnerable and marginalized populations. In Vietnam, FHI 360 is currently building the capacity of local organizations in HIV prevention, care & treatment, drug treatment policy, and drug treatment practice.

We are currently seeking qualified, experienced, and highly motivated candidate for the position of Technical Officer to work in our HIV Care & Treatment program, Hochiminh City:

Essential job functions:
To function as a key technical staff supporting the FHI 360/Vietnam Country Program in the area of comprehensive HIV/AIDS care, support and treatment including antiretroviral therapy (ART) and prevention and treatment of opportunistic infections (OIs) and also in its collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and other stakeholders (e.g. UNAIDS, CDC, USAID and others).

Successful candidates will have the following qualifications and abilities:
- Medical doctor, Public health, Pharmacy, or social science professional. Experience in health management preferred but not required.
- Two years professional experience or comparable in health management in community development projects and/or providing medical care. Demonstrated skills and knowledge in holistic and client-centered service provision.
- Knowledge on and experience in epidemiology and clinical management in resource-poor settings with HIV and TB would be advantageous
- Experience in NGO or community based organization is preferred
- Ability and enthusiasm to learn new areas and willingness to contribute to a dynamic team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge in a culturally sensitive manner.
- Excellent written and oral communication in both Vietnamese and English.
- Computer literate with strong skills in use of MS office package (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint...)
- Ability to travel to program provinces as required.
