Technical Specialist for Technology Assessment For Rice Residue Utilization

The AusAID-funded project ‘Sowing the Seeds of Change: Community-based Climate Change Mitigation through Sustainable Rice Production’ (SRI) will support and build the capacity of small holder rice producers and provincial agencies to adapt to climate change impacts, increase farmer’s profits, and reduce GHG emissions. One of the 4 components in the project is Renewable Energy which aims to utilize rice residues for renewable energy.

In order to find suitable solutions for utilizing rice residues as renewable energy source, SNV Vietnam is seeking a consultant to review all existing technologies in the Vietnam market for that purpose.

SNV is now seeking a technical specialist to produce a research report on technologies suitable for processing and utilising rice residues for energy generation, focus on Vietnam market. Duration of the assignment is 28 man-days in April and May 2013. This research assignment is considered an office based assignment without the requirement of fieldwork or travel.
