The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is a trusted advisor to governments worldwide, helping them transform the way they provide health services to their people. In Vietnam, CHAI works with a number of national institutions, especially the Vietnam Authority of HIV/AIDS Control (VAAC), to help the government reach national HIV targets, especially 1) universal Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART) coverage, and 2) eliminating Mother to Child Transmission of HIV. Established in Vietnam in 2006, CHAI has emphasized a sustainable and integrative approach to health systems strengthening premised on a close partnership with government to build national capacity. CHAI believes that strengthening the government’s capacity to manage and coordinate the national health system is the most effective approach to improving health outcomes in the long-term.
CHAI’s team in Vietnam consists of a dynamic core of 15 in addition to expert resources available at the regional and global levels. CHAI is now seeking for a suitable candidate to work as the Temporary Translator and Administrator for the Vietnam Office.

Main Responsibilities

- To translate a wide variety of internal and external documents in 2 directions: English to Vietnamese and Vietnamese to English
- To handle all incoming/outgoing telephone calls, letters, faxes, postal packages, etc.
- To be responsible for filing system (both soft and hard files)
- To take meeting minutes when necessary
- To ensure proper office supplies and maintenance of office equipment
- To supervise cleaning service to ensure office cleanliness
- To correspond with the building management board for security and utilities
- To book and coordinate travel arrangement for all staff (book tickets, hotel, airport taxi, car rental, ect.)
- To be responsible for visa and work permit application and renewal for expats
- To assist in organizing meetings, trainings and events when required
- Other tasks as requested.

Requirements

- University degree in a relevant field such as English, journalism, or linguistics
- Native Vietnamese speaker
- Computer literacy: Fluent in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows, and ability to conduct internet research
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Experience in translation or other communications-related fields
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and determination to meet deadlines
- Specific experience in the HIV/AIDS is highly desirable, otherwise in the health sector desirable

Salary:   Based on skills and experience.
Duration: 6 months, from February 1, 2013 through July 31, 2013
