General information

Caritas Switzerland in Vietnam (Caritas) has been operating in Vietnam since 1996. Since starting its activities in Vietnam, Caritas has been committed to improve the livelihoods of poor marginalised people, focusing on ethnic minority communities, who live in remote areas and benefitting least from national economic growth. Caritas themes 2012-2016 include humanitarian and development assistance activities in the fields of (1) Sustainable Livelihoods; (2) Water, Hygiene and Environment; (3) Social Issues and Human Rights; (4) Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Relief, including  Humanitarian Aid.

Currently, Caritas is seeking for an experienced Designer/Architect for a traditional Dao Guesthouse to accommodate mid-range tourists and to act as a focal point for the coordination of other tourism activities in the area. The guesthouse will be owned by the community of the Nam Dam village and managed in cooperation between a private tour company and the Community-Based Tourism Management Board of Nam Dam, Quan Ba, Ha Giang. Qualifications

1.Demonstrated experience in the design and architecture fields of work, supervision of transport works, civil works and/or irrigation works, especially in traditional design styles of ethnic minorities. 
2.Sound knowledge, understanding and work experience with poor communities.
3.Demonstrated experience and knowledge about government procedures on construction at provincial and district levels.
