Trainer for Community Trainings in Ca Mau Province

SNV - Netherlands Development Organization  is recruiting a Trainers for community trainings on forest community, climate change resilient and mangroves and aquaculture practices toward shrimp certification in Ca Mau province.

Objective:

To look for qualified trainers on:

• Improve the knowledge of mangrove-shrimp household live in coastal area of Ca Mau in forestry field: value of providing product, service of Mangrove to life, Mangrove growing, protection environment and ability for providing stable service of Mangrove; community protect the forestry in the effort of building communication to deal with climate change.
• Improve knowledge of mangrove-shrimp household  for shrimp farming techniques  standard certification, in order to improve farming with responsibility to environment and suitable with trend of international certificate.

Key tasks of assignment:

The selected consultants will work closely with the Provincial Advisory Group and Mr Le Dinh Huynh, shrimp specialist  who is also Project Field coordinator of MAM in Ca Mau province. Consultants will report to Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy, Project Manager of the  MAM project at SNV.

Indicative tasks:

- To review material trainings from last 2 years of farm trainings and existing practices on mangroves and aquaculture in CM to analyse gaps and design for new training materials for Dat Mui and Nhung Mien;

- Create material for training farmers on:

• Community forestry expert:
  
  • The reason to protect and recovery forestry in coastal area.
  • The benefit of mangrove for household economic, protection environment. The role of mangrove with stable shrimp farming.
  • What climate change is? What community should do to deal with climate change?
  • Guide trainees with rewards: help trainees attend to training courses and communication in class.

• Aquaculture expert:
  
  • Good shrimp farming technique practice: from post-lavier to grow, harvest and clean up suitable with environment standard of Vietnam and international certificate.
  • Discussing guidance, shrimp farming practice question, environment, and certificate…help attending household join in community to discuss and study from each other about shrimp farming techniques.

Qualifications, experience:

• The consultant should demonstrate expertise in thorough understanding and experiences on REDD+, Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES), Aquaculture value chains practices and familiar with integrated Mangroves Shrimp farming in Ca Mau and/or other coastal areas;
• Graduated degree in Agroforestry, Aquaculture and/or related fields who have at least 5 years practical experiences and training skills in the field;
• Excellent facilitation and communication/training skills;
• Understandable English and well Vietnamese;

Delivery products:

All written outputs to be developed in Vietnamese.

• Evaluate, analyse about characteristic, requirement of trainees (shrimp farmers with small scale), basement of approaching method suitable with these trainees.
• Training document, presentation during training courses of mangrove-shrimp farming household and ppt to present for trainees.
• Content and format design for discussion, training to attract trainees, spread out effectively.
• Recommendation for next training courses.
