Position: Training and Communication Coordinator

Duration: 12 months (January 2017 – January 2018) with the possibility of extension


Vietnet Information Technology and Communication Center (Vietnet-ICT) is a Vietnamese not-for-profit non-governmental organization working in the areas of information technology and communication. The Center was established as the Decision No. 227/QD-TWH dated 21 November 2007 by the Vietnam Scientific Association for Development of Talents, Human Resources and was granted with the Certificate of Registration for Science and Technology Activities dated 20 December 2007 by Hanoi Department of Science and Technology.

Vietnet-ICT strives to promote opportunities for development of disadvantaged Vietnamese people through narrowing the digital divide and assisting with effective information access.

Our mission is to support disadvantaged Vietnamese people to access and benefit from information technology and communication services via promoting partnership and capacity building.

Vietnet-ICT focuses on the capacity building and partnership establishment program with three following components:

  • ICT for community: Youth based program, providing ICT training for disadvantage youth. This program started since 2012.
  • NPOconnect: NPO based program, providing access to licensed software donation to NPOs and IT capacity building. It started since 2013, it has served more than 1000 NPOs.
  • Inclusive Growth: Enterprise based program, providing ICT access to improved competitiveness of local enterprises. The program started since 2014. It has served many local enterprises.

Vietnet-ICT is currently looking for a qualified training and communication coordinator for 12 months (from January 2017 – January 2018) with the possibility of extension.

This role will be responsible for execution, coordination and communication of training/events under Vietnet-ICT programs. The role will work in close collaboration with the program coordinators, ensuring all training, events under these programs are professionally undertaken and communicated as committed by Vietnet-ICT to its CSR cooperate sponsors. This role reports directly to Vietnet-ICT Deputy Director.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Develop detail implementation work plan for trainings/events as agreed by the programs (including stakeholder assessment and risk management plan)
  • Coordinate implementing partners for the implementation of the designed training/events and monitor the progress and results (including training suppliers, sponsors, universities partners, government authorities in Viet Nam, and relevant NGOs) 
  • Deliver timely specific tasks and agreed-upon project work plan within budget, including the preparation of related reports;
  • Develop and administer relevant external consultant contracts, as required, and ensure timely reporting and provision of outputs;
  • Design and implement communication activities for these training/events on a regular and timely basic
  • Take key part in other activities relating to networking, resources mobilization and organizational development as assigned by Vietnet-ICT authorized persons.

Education and Professional Qualifications Requirements:

  • Minimum of Bachelor Degree preferred. (MBA/ MA is an advantage)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a multinational corporate environment, private foundation, NGO or development projects.

Experience, Skills and Behavior Requirements:

  • This role demands a high level of training/event management and execution including techniques, processes, and risk assessment/management, considerable corporate experience and organizational agility
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in communication skills (professionally using social media, working with media)
  • Strong third party management skills, Independent, self-motivating and assertive, paying attention to details.
  • Ability to travel frequently to project sites.
  • Fluency in Vietnamese and English
  • Ability to work under pressure meeting the deadlines whilst still providing high standards outputs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint and social media.
