Job description - Training and Product development assistant
Processing, Trade and Marketing Component – Wooden products

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Assist training and product development activities in the training component of the ACIAR project for veneer processing and manufacturing of veneered products.

Specific Tasks:

- Product development & production efficiency
- Work with technical team of partner companies to support the development of products made from veneer, resolve technical issues
- Support partner companies to optimize work procedures and improve efficiency
- Support partner companies to develop technical details, drawings, material list, budgeting and manufacturing plans for the selected products
- Follow up the implementation of manufacturing plan of new products
- Preparation of training courses
- Arrange training logistics and facilities
- Assist to provide training course in product development (furniture construction, material development) and production management
- Develop training materials
- Evaluate training courses’ effectiveness and write training reports
- Follow up the training results and provide supports to partner companies in product development, production efficiency and marketing
- Communication with involved partner companies
- Contribution to the web page

Required Qualification:

- University degree
- At least 2 years in product design & development in furniture processing companies.
- Experience with wooden products and veneer is preferable
- The Good understanding in furniture construction and design
- Excellent communication and facilitation/visualizing skills).
- Team oriented spirit with inter-personal and cross-cultural communication skills and outcome oriented spirit.
- Good command of Vietnamese and Basic English with willingness for improvement

The assistant will work under the supervision of the chief technical advisor of the component or his assigned staff. All activities will be in close cooperation with a veneer training center of a private company in the frame work of a public private partnership project. The assignment will be from 1.1.2013 to 31.3.2014 for 15 months and can be part or full time.
