Translator

Lux-Development, the Executing Agency for Bilateral Co-operation financed by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, is supporting the IFAD Tam Nong Support Project (TNSP) in Tuyen Quang province by providing complementary technical assistance to Government line agencies, district authorities and the private sector. The TNSP seeks to sustainably improve livelihoods among ethnic minority and rural poor households in Tuyen Quang province within all six districts, 64 communes with 57 000 households.

The project have commenced in early June 2014 and planned to be ended by mid 2017. The Lux-Development Support Team for the project VIE035 led by an International Project Implementation Advisor (IPIA) is looking for an TRANSLATOR

Duty station: Tuyen Quang with occasional travels to districts

Duration of the contract: One year, renewable (with two-month probation)

Key responsibilities:

The Translator will provide verbal and written translation in Vietnamese and in English.

The Translator will assist the Administrative and Finance Officer for administrative tasks.

The following duties are the responsibilities of the Translator:

• Provide translation services to the International Project Implementation Advisor and the International Value Chain Advisor;
• Translate reports, letters and all documents related to the project.
• Fulfill administrative tasks based on LuxDev procedures
• Any other task related to translation and required by the IPIA.

Required qualification and experience:

• Fluency in Vietnamese and English, both written and spoken
• Degree in English or any relevant field.
• Knowledge/experience from the agriculture sector would be an advantage;
• Prior working experience in international donor projects would be an advantage.

Required skills and competence:

• Very good English in speaking, reading, and writing.
• Proficient with the MS Office package and Vietnamese keyboard solutions;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Innovative and creative, team player;
• Ability to provide advice and recommendation actions.
