About the position

The OneCGIAR research initiative on Sustainable Healthy Diets through Food Systems Transformations (SHiFT) aims to stimulate the demand for/consumption of sustainable healthy diets; the production/delivery of nutritious, safe, affordable, and sustainably produced foods; while improving livelihoods, gender equity, and social inclusiveness in all subsectors of food systems. One of the objectives of Work Package 1 is to Identify, test, and evaluate potentially scalable consumer- and food environment -focused policies, innovations, and guidelines to shift consumption patterns toward sustainable healthy diets. It is within this work package that the Alliance seeks to establish the co-creation of community actions to improve the adolescents’ food environments to ensure access to and consumption of healthy and sustainable diets in Vietnam.

Toward these objectives, the Alliance is seeking for a consultant to conduct training of study participants on participatory video making of their food environments in three study sites. The consultant will be supported by the CGIAR Food Environment and Consumer Behaviour Team in Asia.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the development of training protocols on technical video making, creation of storyboards and video creation
  • Lead workshops that train adolescents on video making, making of story boardings and video cutting
  • Provide backstopping to participants as they shoot video clips and cut videos to ensure the clips and videos show what the adolescents intended as per their story boards
  • Review produced clips and videos for quality issues
  • Support the research team in the compilation of all produced video clips, storyboards, cuttings, and videos

Deliverables:

  • Training protocol on video making, creation of storyboards and video cutting
  • Report on backstopping of video making, video quality and storyboards processes
  • Storyboards produced by the 06 groups
  • Videos produced by the 06 groups
  • Video clips from all production teams

Qualifications:

  • Experiences in participatory video making
  • Interest in and proven editing and proof-video making skills
  • Experience in working with children and or adolescents
  • Good communication skills with a positive attitude and a strong service orientation
  • Good command of Vietnamese and English (Written and Oral)

Duration: Total days of 44 days over 4 months, August to November 2023

Part time, schedule dependent on project timeline

Total contract value: USD 7,480 ($170 per day) PIT included
