Job Summary: This position will coordinate the implementation of TT’s youth project “The first Vietnam Integrity Summer School” (VISS)
Position Type: Vietnamese national post, full-time (5 working days/week)
Contract duration: One year, with possibility of extension (subject to funding and performance)

Background information:

Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation working to stop corruption. TI works through National Chapters, National Contacts and other partners in more than 100 countries. Its international secretariat (TI-S) is based in Berlin, Germany.

Towards Transparency (TT) is a Vietnamese non-profit consultancy company founded in 2008 to contribute to prevention and fight against corruption. In March 2009, TT became the National Contact of TI in Vietnam and since then has been supporting the TI-S in designing and executing TI Vietnam Programmes 2009-2012, 2013-2015 and the ongoing 2016-2018 programme. TI/TT’s activities are aimed to contribute to effective implementation of anti?corruption policies and practice in the public sector, private sector and society towards reducing corruption in the country.

Currently, TT is looking for a dynamic, creative and professional candidate to fill the position of Youth Project Officer to join its team, ensuring the successful implementation of the youth-focused project “The first Vietnam Integrity Summer School (VISS)”.

Funded by IrishAID, this project was developed in the framework of the TI Vietnam Strategy 2016 - 2020 in which TI/TT is committed to facilitating the creation of an enabling environment for youth to choose integrity and take action to fight corruption. The VISS will create a peer-to-peer learning and an integritybuilding environment that links theory with practice. Students and young leaders will have the opportunity to improve their understanding and knowledge on how values such as integrity and transparency can be applied at school and/or in a work environment, e.g. within businesses

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and conscientious candidate combining strategic thinking, partnership and communications skills to shape TI/TT’s work in Vietnam in one of the key areas of our strategic plan. Position Title: Youth Project Officer

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the successful implementation of the first Vietnam Integrity Summer School (VISS). Being a focal point of the VISS, this position is expected to:
    • Liaise with lecturers, implementing partner(s), volunteers and students and TT team on VISS.
    • Lead the communication work for VISS, including but not limited to school promotion planning and implementation, production of communicational materials, development (if any) and maintenance of media channels to promote VISS.
    • Lead the recruitment, induction & training, roles assignment and supervision of VISS volunteers.
    • Coordinate the collaboration between TT team, VISS lecturers and other relevant stakeholders in the development of training modules and training materials and operation of VISS during school time.
    • Develop detailed budget plan and manage project budget.
    • Coordinate logistics and communication on VISS camp site(s) during school time.
    • Coordinate the project evaluation and closing.
    • Participate in the fundraising for the next VISS.
  • Provide inputs and support for TT to achieve the strategic Change Goal 2 by 2020: “Young people at university and in their early career choose integrity and say NO to corruption.”
  • Perform other key organisational tasks as assigned by the line manager.

Job Requirements

Skills and qualifications:

  • University Degree in, Social Sciences, Education, Communications, or other relevant fields.
  • At least 2 years of relevant and practical work experience, ideally in an NGO environment. Experience in non-formal training and education targeting youth is a strong preference.
  • Project management experience, including project budget management. Experience in managing youth engagement project is a distinct advantage.
  • Interest and experience in using social media and creative communication to promote awareness and behavior change.
  • Excellent English and Vietnamese skills (written and spoken).
  • Strong computer skills, including but not limited to MS Office (MS Words, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, Outlook)

  • Strong and demonstrated interest, motivation and commitment to integrity, transparency and anticorruption
  • Strong interest in and an ability to engage young people
  • Capacity to make sound assessments, critical thinking and problem-solving capacity
  • Open-mindedness, and an ability to learn and apply new concepts
  • Comfortable working to tight deadlines with high-quality delivery

Gross Annual Salary package

  • 100,000,000 VND – 150,000,000 VND depending on experience. The package is:
  • Inclusive of Social Insurance, Health Insurance and Unemployment Insurance contributed and PIT paid by employee.
  • Exclusive of Social Insurance, Health Insurance and Unemployment Insurance contributed by employer.
