Allergic rhinitis affects approximately 60%-70% of patients with sinusitis in Vietnam, according to data shared at the 2024 Scientific and Technical Conference of Ho Chi Minh City Ear-Nose-Throat Hospital.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Le Tran Quang Minh, director of the hospital, noted that sinus-related conditions represent about 30%-35% of annual patient visits to the hospital. He emphasized that the number of sinusitis cases has been increasing, largely driven by climate and environmental factors.
Air pollution in major cities such as Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi continues to worsen, contributing to a rise in sinusitis cases across various age groups, Dr. Minh said. He added that the condition is particularly common among individuals frequently exposed to outdoor environments due to work or daily activities. (Suc Khoe Doi Song)
