Circular 57 to Cut 70% of Vietnam’s Medical Administrative Paperwork

The Vietnamese Ministry of Health’s Circular 57/2024/TT-BYT, which delegates administrative responsibilities to provincial health departments, is expected to reduce administrative paperwork in the medical sector by approximately 70% once implemented.

Associate Professor-Dr. Ha Anh Duc, head of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment, highlighted that the circular introduces key reforms aimed at transparency, streamlining processes, and reducing processing time. It also strengthens management capacity and personnel in licensing medical practitioners and healthcare facilities.

The department has directed provincial health departments to implement Circular 57, effective December 31, 2024. This includes organizing training, updating infrastructure, and managing data on professional licenses and healthcare facilities. Departments must ensure compliance and report any issues by February 22.  (Lao Dong)
