Ten Vietnamese universities have been listed in the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2025, with Vietnam National University-Hanoi leading at rank 325th globally and 51st in Asia, state media reported.
The rankings, released on December 10, include over 1,750 universities from more than 100 countries and territories.
Vietnam National University-Hanoi jumped 456 places from its previous ranking in the 781-790 range, becoming the first Vietnamese institution to reach the top 325 globally. Other top-ranking Vietnamese institutions include Duy Tan University (in the 538th ranking), the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (653rd), and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (702nd).
Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City and Ton Duc Thang University ranked 880th and 921st-930th, respectively. Can Tho University was in the 1,061st-1,080th range, Nguyen Tat Thanh University in the 1,451st-1,500th range, while Hue University and the University of Danang debuted in the 1,501st+ group.
Globally, the University of Toronto from Canada led the rankings with a perfect score, followed by ETH Zurich from Switzerland, Lund University from Sweden, University of California from the U.S., and UCL from the UK. (VnExpress, Kinh Te Do Thi, Vietnam Plus, VTC News, Hanoi Moi, Tin Tuc)
