Vietnam Approves Plan for International Education Integration by 2030

Vietnam has approved the plan for international integration in education and training through 2030, aiming to boost global collaboration and enhance the quality of education across the country, according to Decision 1600 signed by Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long.

The plan includes increasing participation in UNESCO’s Global Network of Learning Cities to ten administrative units, and expanding integrated curricula in five localities. It also targets widespread foreign language proficiency for students, enhanced teacher capacities, and the gradual adoption of English as a second language in schools.

Higher education initiatives aim to include over 20% of joint programs with the top 500 global universities and attract international students to Vietnamese universities, with a goal of 1.5% enrollment.

Additionally, the plan seeks to raise the proportion of international faculty exchanges to 8% annually and have over 20% of programs meet recognized international accreditation standards.

The plan set key strategies to achieve the goals mentioned above, including improving education policies, fostering international partnerships, ensuring quality assurance, and building capacity among educational professionals to meet global standards.
