Vietnam Central Province to Boost ADB-funded Green Urban Project to $87M

Authorities in Vietnam’s central province of Thua Thien-Hue have agreed to raise the total investment of a green urban development project, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), to nearly VND2.1 trillion ($87.5 million), circa VND159.09 billion higher than the initial value, state media reported.

Of the sum, VND1.44 trillion came from ABD, rising by VND159.18 billion due to exchange rate changes, and the rest from the local government.

The additional value will be used to build ecological canals at Area A and two road sections at Area B in An Van Duong new urban area and upgrade a pedestrian bridge from Hue city’s administrative center to the provincial sports center.

The project’s timeline has been extended to June 30, 2028, instead of June 30, 2024, to address previous delays.
