Vietnam Ministry Holds Gender Integration Training for Educators

The Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) held a gender integration training session for educators from 15 teacher training institutions on November 22-23 in Hanoi.

The event was part of the Aus4Skills program, supported by the Australian Embassy, aimed at enhancing higher education capacity.

Mr. Pham Tuan Anh, deputy general director of the Teachers and Educational Managers Department, emphasized the importance of incorporating gender topics into education to address systemic gaps.

Participants discussed gender issues in Vietnam, particularly in education, and acquired practical skills to integrate these topics into curricula. Local and international experts led sessions on gender analysis and curriculum design to foster inclusive teaching methods.

The training supports MoET’s 2024-2030 plan to include gender topics in teacher education and aligns with Vietnam’s National Strategy on Gender Equality for 2021-2030. Educators will review existing curricula and develop strategies to address gender gaps in teacher training programs. (Giao Duc Thoi Dai, Hanoi Moi)
