Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) proposed a VND140 billion ($5.8 million) budget to reform the preschool education curriculum, aiming for comprehensive improvements by 2030 with a vision to 2045, state media reported.
The draft resolution is expected to be presented to the National Assembly in October this year for approval.
The reform focuses on a competency-based approach to enhance children’s physical, emotional, intellectual, language, and aesthetic development; empowering teachers and ensuring inclusive, equitable education; and regulating daily routines for children and staff following labor laws.
From 2025 to 2028, training will be provided to preschool managers and teachers, and a three-year pilot program will be conducted in select preschools, followed by an independent evaluation. The curriculum will be finalized and rolled out nationwide from 2029 to 2030. (Vietnam Plus, PLO)
