The incidence of stroke patients in Vietnam is rising and affecting young individuals, officials shared during an online meeting in Hanoi on October 29 between Vietnamese Deputy Health Minister Tran Van Thuan and Director of the National Institute for Stroke and Applied Neurosciences at Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand Professor Valery Feigin.
During the meeting, Deputy Minister Thuan expressed his appreciation for Professor Feigin’s presentation and the contributions of international experts regarding technologies that can reduce the risk of non-communicable diseases, including stroke, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and hypertension.
Mr. Thuan instructed the Department of Preventive Health to coordinate with the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment, the Department of Science, Technology, and Training, Bach Mai Hospital, and other relevant units to connect with Professor Feigin and his colleagues for further information exchange and discussions before his visit to Vietnam in December.
