Vietnam, WHO Discuss Health Cooperation Priorities

 

Vietnamese Health Minister Dao Hong Lan met with World Health Organization (WHO)’s Representative in Vietnam Angela Pratt on March 5 to discuss collaboration priorities, local media reported.

During the talks, Minister Lan welcomed WHO’s proactive engagement with partner countries, including Vietnam, to develop practical and effective coordination strategies. 

She outlined three focus areas in the health sector, namely (i) disease prevention through early health screenings, (ii) population and development policies, and (iii) medical workforce training and advancing the National Medical Council to ensure healthcare quality meets national system demands. 

WHO Representative Pratt expressed appreciation for Vietnam’s cooperation and reaffirmed WHO’s commitment to supporting policy development and continued collaboration with the health ministry.  (Suc Khoe Doi Song)
