200 Poor Vietnamese in Cambodia Get Free Medical Checkups

Doctors from the Ho Chi Minh City-based Hoa Tam Charity and Cambodia’s Reasmey Kompong Som Clinic have offered free-of-charge medical checkups and medicines for 200 needy Vietnamese people in Preah Siahnouk province. Hoa Tam Charity also donated gifts, each worth VND200,000 to 150 poor patients for the upcoming Lunar New Year or Tet holiday, the Voice of Vietnam Radio said Jan 10. In Aug 2010, the local charitable organization also provided examination and granted gifts to 150 Vietnamese patients in the Tonle Sap region. Earlier, the Vietnam Red Cross (VRC) pledged to help Lao and Cambodian partners train staff and promote healthcare services for people living along their border provinces.
