2,700 Children in Vietnam Receive Funding for Heart Operations in Past 7 Years

As many as 2,700 children in Vietnam have received funding for heart operations in the past seven years from the “A Heart for You” program sponsored by the state-run Vietnam Television (VTV) and the military-run Viettel Mobile. In the past years, the two sponsors have raised over VND90 billion ($4.13 million) to help children under the age of 16 to have heart operations. Moreover, the program also cooperated with hospitals nationwide to hold 16 diagnostic events for 16,000 children in remote areas. The program also improved hospital’s ability in doing heart operations through investing in advance equipment. The program aims to help another 3,000 children in the 2015-2020 period and diagnose additional 30,000 children. The organizers called for funding and help to achieve the target. All contributions can be sent to Vietnam Charity Fund under the management of the VTV. (Hanoi Moi – News Hanoi June 7 p2)
