300-kg War Bomb Deactivated in Hoa Binh Province

Military officers in Vietnam northern mountainous provinces of Hoa Binh defused a 300-kilogram bomb on November 19 after it was unearthed by the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Khang at Nep village, Tay Phong commune, Cao Phong district. The bomb has the length of 1.2 meters and diameter of 40 centimeters. It was used by the U.S. in 1972. Recently, one soldier has been killed and another critically injured during a bomb and mine clearance operation in the northern Vietnamese province of Ha Giang. (Nhan Dan)
